Today, the foundation stone was laid in Brindisi for a new industrial hub dedicated to the production of stationary batteries and energy storage systems. The project is being developed by Eni Storage Systems, the company jointly owned by Eni Industrial Evolution and FIB – Seri Industrial Group, in the presence of the Italian Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, together with local and institutional authorities.

The initiative marks a key milestone in the development of the integrated Teverola–Brindisi manufacturing platform, which is set to become one of Europe’s leading production hubs for LFP battery cells, modules, battery packs and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) serving Utility Scale and Commercial & Industrial applications.

The industrial plan targets a combined production capacity of 16 GWh per year by 2030, equally shared between the Teverola and Brindisi facilities, contributing to the growth of Europe’s battery value chain and strengthening the continent’s industrial autonomy in energy storage technologies.

The event also confirmed Eni’s entry into FAENIX, the Seri Industrial Group company responsible for commercializing the energy storage solutions manufactured through the integrated Teverola–Brindisi platform, further strengthening the strategic collaboration between the two partners.

A further step towards building an integrated, innovative and sustainable European battery value chain capable of supporting the continent’s energy transition.
