The model is based on the best possible use of all resources and their transformation into output, through the implementation of a strategy that involves the development of integrated businesses based on the key principle of the circular economy. The circular economy represents a strategic lever for the Group in supporting the path towards a fair and inclusive transition, with the aim of progressively applying it to the entire business model in order to make it increasingly sustainable, resilient, and competitive.
We operate in three synergistic areas:
- Batteries Division, with FAAM launching one of the largest European projects dedicated to stationary LFP battery systems.
- Plastics Division, with SERI PLAST and the P2P project in joint venture with Unilever;
- Sustainable Mobility Division, with Menarini, a historic Italian bus manufacturer.
With over 20 sites, over 1,600 employees, and a long-term vision, we are investing over €700 million to expand our presence, innovate throughout the supply chain, and generate value for people, institutions, and markets.
By exploiting the synergies between the two business lines of Plastics and Batteries, the Group manages the entire supply chain of the lead-acid and plastics segment in an integrated manner, both upstream through the production of secondary lead from the recycling of end-of-life batteries, and downstream with the manufacture of the finished product, the battery, and its recovery.
With the innovative plant in Teverola, the Group aims to replicate the circularity-based business model of the lead-acid segment for lithium cells and batteries as well, thanks to its consolidated experience in the sector.
With the aim of overseeing the entire battery production chain and becoming independent from Asian suppliers oflithium cells, which currently control global supply, the Battery Business Line produces all components and carries out all stages of the production cycle: anode and cathode, cell assembly and formation, module assembly and lithium batteries.
In September 2025, Eni Storage System was established, a joint venture between Eni (50% plus one share) and Fib (50% minus one share) for the construction in Brindisi (Puglia) of a hub for the production of over 8 GWh/year of water-based lithium iron phosphate batteries, mainly intended for stationary electricity storage.
The project is part of Eni’s industrial transformation plan to contribute to industrial development based on increasing environmental, social, and economic sustainability. It confirms the partnership between Eni and Seri Industrial, which provides for the integrated management of the Brindisi site with the plant currently under construction in Teverola.
Brindisi will also be the hub for the production of cathode active material—lithium iron phosphate, which stores and releases lithium ions in the cathode during charge and discharge cycles—and the assembly of batteries in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), serving both the Brindisi and Teverola production facilities. In the future, the Brindisi site will also add battery recycling activities to its cathode active material production.
